Up for sale is a beautiful, intricately hand-carved wall mask inspired by pre-Columbian Mesoamerican art, as shown in image.
Subject & Details: The piece features a stylized human face with prominent elongated ears, heavy eyelids, and large ear spools. Sitting atop the headdress is a detailed carving of a bat (reminiscent of Camazotz, the Mayan bat god) with outstretched wings conforming to the shape of the mask.
Material: Hand-carved from a heavy, natural green mineral stone with organic earthy brown veining and mottling throughout (likely a variety of jadeite, serpentine, or soapstone).
Display Ready: It features two discreet pre-drilled holes at the top corners with a small wire, making it ready to be hung directly on a wall.
