Description
The Denby Baroque pattern is characterized by:
• Denby has been making stoneware pottery in Denby since 1809 and became renowned for durable, handcrafted tableware.
• The Baroque pattern was introduced in 1992 on Denby's "Sovereign" shape. It featured a rich mid-blue glaze decorated with an Art Nouveau–inspired pendant motif in shades of blue, turquoise, pink, and orange.
• Stoneware construction.
• Rich cobalt/mid-blue glaze.
• White interiors.
• Hand-drawn Art Nouveau–style pendant motif.
• Accents in blue, turquoise, pink, and orange.
• The design was created by Claire Bernard, who drew the pattern entirely freehand. The hand-drawn approach gave each piece a lively, organic appearance rather than a mechanically precise look.
