Description
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Designated Person Ashore (DPA) to join our ship management team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Safety Management System (SMS), ensuring compliance with international maritime regulations and company standards. Key Responsibilities * Ensure compliance with the ISM Code, flag state, and class requirements * Monitor and improve vessel safety performance and operational compliance * Act as the primary link between ship and shore management on safety matters * Conduct internal audits and inspections * Investigate incidents, non-conformities, and near misses, and follow up on corrective actions * Support emergency response and crisis management * Ensure crew awareness and training on safety procedures * Liaise with authorities, classification societies, and external auditors Requirements * Minimum 5 years of experience in a DPA or similar maritime safety/compliance role * Strong knowledge of ISM, ISPS, MLC, and SOLAS regulations * Seagoing experience is a plus * Excellent communication and reporting skills * Strong problem-solving and leadership abilities * Fluency in English (Arabic is a plus) What We Offer * Competitive salary package * Professional growth opportunities * Dynamic and supportive work environment * Opportunity to work with an expanding ship management company
