The MIDIPLUS X8 Max is an advanced 88-key MIDI keyboard controller and performance workstation designed for musicians, composers, producers, and live performers who prefer a responsive semi-weighted keyboard instead of a fully weighted hammer-action keybed. It features 88 full-size semi-weighted velocity-sensitive keys with channel aftertouch, providing a fast, expressive, and comfortable playing experience suitable for piano, synthesizer, orchestral libraries, and virtual instruments.
The X8 Max includes more than 200 built-in instrument sounds, allowing it to function both as a standalone performance keyboard and as a professional USB MIDI controller. It supports a maximum 64-note polyphony and features a bright TFT color display for easy navigation through sounds, settings, and performance functions.
For studio production and DAW control, the keyboard offers 8 assignable rotary knobs, 8 assignable faders, 8 RGB velocity-sensitive performance pads, 6 transport control buttons, dedicated octave up/down buttons, a transpose button, and 9 function buttons. A clickable encoder allows quick menu navigation and parameter editing.
Performance controls include traditional Pitch Bend and Modulation wheels, together with the signature X-Band touch strip, which can be freely assigned to MIDI CC messages for expressive performance and sound manipulation.
The X8 Max offers powerful creative features including split keyboard mode, layer mode, 20 intelligent musical scales (including Blues, Dorian, Harmonic Minor, Whole Tone, Japanese, Chinese Pentatonic, Middle Eastern, Egyptian, Ryukyu, Cowboy, Vaporwave and others), four velocity response curves (Normal, Soft, Hard and Fixed), programmable arpeggiator, Chord Memory, Chord Trigger, and complete scene management with factory Performance/DAW scenes plus fully customizable User scenes.
Using the MIDIPLUS Control Center software, virtually every hardware control can be customized, including knobs, faders, pads, transport buttons, pedals, modulation controls, aftertouch, MIDI channels, velocity curves, controller assignments, split points, arpeggiator parameters, standby settings, and user presets.
Connectivity is exceptionally comprehensive and includes USB, MIDI IN, MIDI OUT, MIDI THRU, Sustain pedal input, Programmable Switch pedal input, Assignable Expression pedal input, dual balanced 1/4-inch audio outputs, Auxiliary audio input, and a 1/4-inch headphone output, making the X8 Max suitable for both studio and stage applications.
