الوصف
datatape CPR 4010"
What is it?
This is not a consumer music tape deck like a Revox or TEAC. It was designed for:
Scientific data recording
Industrial measurements
Aerospace and aviation testing
Laboratory data logging
Instrumentation recording
These machines recorded analog signals onto magnetic tape for later analysis.
What the parts are
Large reels (Scotch and Ampex reels)
Hold magnetic tape.
One reel supplies tape, the other takes it up.
Tape transport mechanism
The guides, rollers, and central head assembly move the tape at a precise speed.
Control buttons
Fast Forward
Rewind
Record
Stop
Play/Review
Electronics modules (rear section)
The plug-in cards visible in the back contain amplifier and recording circuitry.
Different modules could be installed depending on the application.
Why it was used
Before digital storage existed, engineers used machines like this to record:
Aircraft flight-test data
Engine test data
Seismic measurements
Medical signals
Telemetry
Research experiments
Instead of storing music, it could store electrical signals from sensors.
Age
Late 1960s to mid-1970s
